Release and Deployment Manager

Essential Qualifications/Experience:

·       Bachelor's degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 2 years post-related experience. Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate's particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency, that is, at least 6 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post

·       2+ years practical experience performing release and deployment function in large IT environment/organization. Working in collaboration with Change Management, Configuration Management, Verification and Validation Teams

·       Training/Certifications:

ü  ITIL (v3/4) Foundation Certificate

DUTIES/ROLE:

·       Emerging technology monitoring

ü  Supports monitoring of the external environment and assessment of emerging technologies

ü  Contributes to the creation of reports, technology roadmapping and the sharing of knowledge and insights

·       Methods and tools

ü  Provides support on the use of existing methods and tools

ü  Configures methods and tools within a known context

ü  Creates and updates the documentation of methods and tools. Portfolio, programme and project support

ü  Provides administrative services to project boards, project assurance teams and quality review meetings

ü  Uses recommended portfolio, programme and project control solutions for planning, scheduling and tracking

ü  Sets up project files, compiles and distributes reports

ü  Provides guidance on project management software, procedures, processes, tools and techniques

·       Configuration management

ü  Applies tools, techniques and processes to administer, track, log, report on and correct configuration items, components and changes

ü  Assists with audits to check the accuracy of the information and undertakes any necessary corrective action under direction. Release and deployment

ü  Assesses and analyses release components for input to release scheduling

ü  Maintains and administers tools and methods for software delivery, deployment and configuration

ü  Maintains release processes and procedures

·       Change control

ü  Assesses, analyses, develops, documents and implements changes based on requests for change

ü  Ensures that operational processes are in place for effective change control

ü  Develops, configures and maintains tools to manage and report on the lifecycle of change requests

ü  Identifies problems and issues and recommend corrective actions
